😀 dbmk - chains review
who are these two?
phew, glad we got last weeks issue out! all those cool things we announced and then our website kept breaking because websites are hard. hopefully, our shop and etc are all working now so if you wanna get some merch, shop link at the top. anywho. reviews! im a bit deliriously tired at the minute so this is either going to be really good or borderline nonsensical so strap in.
this week, we're checking out indie pop tune chains by dbmk, it's got some fab vocals, an up tempo beat that slaps, and plenty of mood!
click the picture up above to give it a listen!
what i liked! :)
okay first off, it should not be permitted for songs to be this god damn catchy. i swear, i've been whistling the chorus to this from the first listen and that is rare let me tell you! plus the delivery of the hooks in this is so heartfelt i nearly cried a lil bit but idk if that's from the tiredness or not. finally i think it's frankly egregious that this song also is so jumpy and high energy for much of it's runtime, real contender for the ol' happy song sad lyrics get up.
what i didn’t like :(
i really felt like the outro choruses in particular could've done with some really more significant accompaniment. they felt big and bombastic but also as though that moment in particular wasn't firing on all cylindars.
my drunk opinion :S
nah i got nothing, this song is rad and that's about it
for fans of
this song reminded me a lot of porter robinson if he didn't use the vocoder as often.
should you listen to more?
this is a great artist. v much yes, you should listen to more of these two because it's bangers left and right and centre im telling you! check out the song haunted house, it's really cool and available at the button below
