gonna be honest with you all, i think we have a strong marmite track this week. personally? i think it's great, there's a lot of really cool stuff on display, but if you were to tell me sorry, this isn't for me? i wouldn't hold it against you. so what's on offering this week? well meet duotrio and their hip hop, big band, soul and really over the top tune light of my life!

what i liked! :)

when that brass hits? this song absolutely takes offffff.there's so much happening in this song, and the way it uses the brass elements to somewhat structure it all, is fantastic. im always a fan of when a big ban ensemble and drum kit bracket out the main melody using strong pushes, it gives such oomf and drama to a scene and this song does just that. also strong shout out to the vocalists int his, both the rapping and singing are very much delivered with the kind of strength and gusto that a song like this really demands.

what i didn’t like :(

so when i mentioned this could be quite marmite? well, i thinkt he rapping is the main element to decide that one way or another. between the intonation and the tone and the drama of the perofmrance, i personally like it well enough, but i can see it turning some people off for sure. that said, the little breaths in particular add a lot of personality to it and that on it's own lands it for me. does it do the same for you?

had a proper jumpscare from that brass man, need to see that live honestly so if anyone else gets scared i can point and laugh at them cus it's already got me aha

for fans of

this is giving me a very strong sordid pink energy, but that's metal instead of hip hop.

should you listen to more?

both of the artists that appear on this song are really good and this collab is a great idea. the combos in my mind work, and perhaps they need more work but they work well enough for this song that i'll call it a win.
