gonna do something a little bit different this week. if it’s sunny and summery where you are, don’t listen to this song just yet. go for a lil walk this evening and find yourself in a place where when the sun is just set, you can see lights in the distance. a hill, a mountain, a road, a beach, a whatever, pick your own place, and then listen to this song with earphones. let’s have a lil vibey moment. this week, we’re checking out the shoegaze/indie track seethrough by fes.

what i liked! :)

god this song just transported me elsewhere i’ll tell you what. the gorgeous guitar that brings the everything to this song is just stunningly beautiful. laden with talent and personality, it’s a gorgeous set of riffs that layer on top of each other a form of gentle percussion and texture that leaves you lost in their world a little. with that taking you by the hand, good news because the vocal? oh man, the vocal had me stock still with it’s personality and storytelling. these two as a combo would be loads, tons even, but they’re not all that’s going on here. the outro man. the outro! those atmospheric and vast soundscapes that linger and wait until long after they may believe they had had enough. it’s enough to make me zone out and think about my decisions, but in a good way.

what i didn’t like :(

de nada, sorry gang another banger. i hate to break it to you but we’ve found another absolute bop.

for fans of

so i’ve described a lot of the functional aspects of this song with glowing aplomb (there’s a word i haven’t used before) but what makes this song so impactful is the ease of which it manifests a feeling within you. for that reason, i’m going to go in the opposite direction and describe a song that produces a similar feeling as a comparison, which is cutting my fingers off by turnover

should you listen to more?

yes jesus christ. this song came out a year ago and you know what this artist has done? drop banger after banger. their latest song, force feed is a math rock twidly guitar tour de force i’ve been vibing to hard. this song we’ve reviewed is defo a bit of a departure from their main sound, but it’s a departure with purpose and retaining their character, so check out the rest to see what that means!

more we’ve been listening to

one of those songs that has you headbanging throughout with it’s rhythmn and you get the feeling you probably shouldn’t stop

i’m such a sucker for this over compressed super tight drumming man

i love when a song just goes, and this just goes
