are u mad at me?

oohh doesn't this all look different! someone spent a few days redesigning everything, and that someone was me. the thinking being the old style was too much colour and stuff, so lost focus on the music, which is what we should be focusing on! so now, it's black and whites and space, but music and links to it is all lit up. it could all go back to how it was if people don't like it, which is why there's a poll below! like the look? don't like the look? let us know! anywho, we've got a song for you. meet laur, and their song fine. a super gentle and really heartfelt song with a lot of great gentle energy.

what i liked! :)
the vocals in this track are really great. the combination of the rather breathy and quiet style with the moments of soaring lines all delivered with a gentle and honest tone are great. the subtle hooks that don't seem to garishly land in your brain but nevertheless remain stuck with you are deftly woven. the rounded strumming style too gives this song the kind of hushed but hurried energy to it. it's got a fair amount going on, but it doesn't feel like it. without the acrid attack of aggressive plucking, the guitar feels percussive while reserved.
what i didn’t like :(
this song is the kind of track that would benefit greatly from the kind of gel-ing effect you can get through having the recording a bit less competently recorded. it needs crackle, hiss, the kinds of tiny tiny details that blend together the elements like pasta water and sauce.
my drunk opinion :S
the . in this song name speaks volumes, respect
for fans of
this song is giving me a lot of 'new sharon van etten' energy, and that's a good thing. the new sve album is a banger through and through.
should you listen to more?
this is an artist that is very much on the right track. several of their songs are pretty good, but this latest song is definitely their best so far. they're definitely developing an obvious sense of confidence, that's pretty enjoyable to observe. put a pin in this one and check them out in a bit!
more we’ve been listening to

this is if the bit in the lost boys with the sax guy lasted a glorious 5 minutes, and i love it.

weird, energetic and a fun ol time, exactly what you'd expect from a band proudly wearing a ! in their name.

this is the kind of grand and soulful song that makes for a great lighter in the air moment.
