😀 loops & loops - everything changes review

how do you keep old indie fresh?

you know they say you gotta start as you mean to go on, well we're gonna keep on going with bangers because that's what we do here. we've got a great wee track for you this week, taking a lot of the styles of older sounding indie and delivering it with style, taste and just a hint of lo-fi vibe. check out everything changes by loops & loops by clicking the play button above!

what i liked! :)

the aesthetics of this song are absolutely on point. from the abrasive guitar work to the slightly distant vocals, it's very much an older indie type of track. it's really sold on that beautifully simple guitar riff however. i also really enjoyed the drums to this, taking care to not sit pretty on a hi hat riff, there's plenty of variation which helps prevent later parts of the song from feeling washed out.

what i didn’t like :(

honestly i think this song would've benefited a lot by leaning into the lo-fi angle a lot harder. making this song a little more grainy and difficult to parse would help a lot of it gel together.

my drunk opinion :S

this is a good afters song but a bad during song, make of that what you will

for fans of

gonna go for a bit of a left field comparison here, but you know what, i think it's bang on. this song reminds me soooooo much of orville peck. yup, the weird gay cowboy singer with a voice deeper than god. dunno why, but also cus they're very similar!

should you listen to more?

compared to some of the artists we feature, this one is getting pretty well established with some quality music. there's a fair few singles for you to chow down on, they're all pretty similar to this in terms of execution but there's also some decent experimentation. check it out at the button below!

more we’ve been listening to

that’s all from us this week! catch you in the next one xo
