😀 niagra moon - bad vibes review
wanna come on a little journey?
review number 129 time! and we've got an interesting one this week, advertising themselves as beach boys meets thom yorke in my inbox, we're here to tell you a bit more in yours. this is an incredibly aesthetic piece called bad vibes by niagra moon. it's got more instruments than you can shake a stick at, plus some great vocal work too.

what i liked! :)
the whimsical and detailed aesthetic of this song is a treat. from the melody's jumping instruments and registers to the naturalised birds, this song has so much going on and all of it feels intentional. the fantastic attention to detail and minutae of this track make it feel dense and packed full of cool lil bits and bobs. it's very worth giving it a few listens because each time you get to discover something new and i think that's really neat.
what i didn’t like :(
the only criticism i have for this song is that it didn't really seem to go anywhere with all the tools it sets up. i would've enjoyed some kind of high point in this but no dice :(
my drunk opinion :S
felt like im at tea w the mad hatter
for fans of
there's a long list of artists that sound like this, altho maybe with less pizzazz. as a comparison tho, im digging up fun. remember fun.? with the . on the end? they used to be a lot, lot, lot weirder before they cashed in their chips and went mainstream with that one song. im not linking that tho, im linking a different and better song by fun. for you to listen to. fun.
should you listen to more?
you might recognise this artist if you've been subscribed for a lil bit. a few weeks ago we featured them in our bandcamp friday special! see, we don't just pop some artists on there, we also check them out and this is an artist that if you dig their style in this track, you're gonna be all over them. click the button to listen to more.
