😀 the unfinished music research program - visit of parallel universes review

electronic, minimalist and distant, but does it all hold together?

this week time to take another look back at an alumni! we've checked in on a few artists after they've been featured before, but never one quite like this one... this, as well as having one of the longest artist names that we've covered, is also one of the most interesting artists. introducing the unfinished music research project and their song; visit of parallel universes. click the play button up above to check it out!

click the picture up above to give it a listen!

what i liked! :)

this song is a very cool experiment into deconstruction and negative space, and when that comes together it really works. the elements at the start of the song especially between the percussion, organ and bass produce a really groovy little beat that forms around a negative space. this is so cool, pulling that off at all is a real feat. those moments are joined together by long meditative stretches that really draw you in if you let them.

what i didn’t like :(

this song feels like it loses itself a little bit towards the latter half. at times the experimentation feels less intentional and it's quite easy to get lost.

my drunk opinion :S

this is playing in the uber on the way home from the pub what pub were you at

for fans of

this is a tricky one if im honest, the comparison i gave the last time this artist was featured doesn't apply, and they didn't have recordings anyway! oh how far we've come. that said, floating points are pretty close

should you listen to more?

last time we checked out this artist, they were really good and now? still got it. the album this song is from is pretty sweet with all sorts of experimental, minimalist goodness so if that's the kind of thing you're interested in then check it out at the button below!
