what i like

what i like

the immaculate vibes created in this track by the instrumentation are so much fun to listen to. the little details like the off beat piano riffs or the bass groove really sell this song as something to lose yourself in. the vocal work with the rapping and almost pontificating are really strong too, both layering in something a bit odd and new sounding while also being a really sick song.

what i don't like

what i don’t like

this song feels ever so slightly one note, it does it’s thing and then gets out of there which is kinda sad because there’s a lot more it could’ve done with what it developed.

my drunk opinion

my drunk opinion

feels like the kinda thing i’m watching on cbbc at like 7pm on a friday night

for fans of

my drunk opinion

i was wracking my dribbling little brain here for a hot sec trying to figure this one out, and i think the honest answer is early gorillaz. it’s got the nods to 90s hip hop, the indie pop stylings and the accessibility to make you want to give it a go.

should you listen to more

one thing i will say about this artist is this song is so strong off the back of it’s weirdness and that weirdness is not so present in the other tracks of this album. i wish there was more of that strangeness going on because that’s what drew me to this in the first place.
