ready to feel this on the inside?
genre: folk /// singer songwriter
here’s this weeks song! a really great song i liked a lot. enjoy the folkish and dulcet tones of this singer song writer duo. this week, our song is scarecrow by lilo, yet another banger delivered curtesy of our submit a song form, don’t be shy of sending in your songs!

what i liked! :)
there’s a gentle and slow build to this song that really layers itself on with a sense of intention that i really liked. with the hooks and elements like sparse but heavy drums and wash from the piano the songwriters here are able to build and build a beautiful sense of emotional intensity i enjoyed lot. setting that all on top of the ever present guitar plucking, this is a track that really sets you within it’s world and keeps you there for the entire runtime. when the final notes drop away and silence washes in, you miss the feeling on this song as much as hearing it. all of that is only backing of course to the main event, the heartfelt and beautifully delivered vocal work. between the gorgeous lyrics and dual vocals this is one of those tracks that really demands to be listened to with noise cancelling earphones and in a dark room.
what i didn’t like :(
honestly not much, there’s not a huge amount to this song, but i feel like the sky was rather the limit on how hard they wanted to go with it, and i kinda wish they’d pushed it a lil further with maybe some strings, but also i don’t mind that they didn’t.
my drunk opinion :S
i want that finger plucked guitar to narrate my life
for fans of
this song reminded me a lot of this track moments in between by mimi trees, both in how it gently gains in intensity without going too close to the sun, and in how it’s really really good.
should you listen to more?
i really dig this act and the stuff they’re doing, and they’ve got some really big songs! spit it up is what spotify offers as their main track, and that’s a slow gentle bop and the ep it’s from is so good.
more we’ve been listening to
knower are back! thank god, and they’re better than ever, and that makes me a happy bunny.

groovy and weird and i love that for us

the artwork for this song stresses me out, but the song is really good, so who’s winning there?
