what i liked! :)
this song has a lot of really moody and vibey characteristics going on. from the whistful vocals just dripping with emotion and personality, to the fun combo of bongos and gentle guitar work produce a song that feels great. it's a really good time listening to it all and the changes particularly on the guitar solo are really deftly handled. the song moves smoothly from one section to another keeping you in it's world, and that's a hard thing to do.
what i didn’t like :(
this song has some problems, none of which really scupper the song, but if it addressed them we'd be looking at a real bop. first off, the drums and bongs, while they're a lot of fun and do a lot to land the world the song is making, they're not quite there. the bongos are a lil loud, and the arrangement of the drums give them too much bite to let those wild fills lull you into the song. second of all there's nothing in this song to really grab you hook wise, the vocal hook is lost in the mix and the guitar is just not grabbing enough to land in your head.
my drunk opinion :S
listening to this makes me feel like i have had one less beers than would put me down and im enjoying it a lot.
for fans of
this reminds me of this seafarers song, and maybe i'm scared which i keep going back and listening to every now and again because it's just so good
should you listen to more?
this is one of their early songs, their spotify has one more which is grand. this is a really good song i think, the other song out now is also pretty good and as we used to say a lot, if this is the trajectory and where this artist has started from? there's a lot of room for some really great growth artistically. also, fantastic album artwork, just really good.
more we’ve been listening to
honestly? thought this album was gonna be a flop but after listening a fair bit, it's really really good.
delightfully weird, high energy and tense, three things i can't live without!
big, fuzzy and messy just the way i like it
