help save luna lounge!

look i won’t lie, this is a very different message to what i usually send out.

where this newsletter has always been about celebrating music, and finding the good in what’s out there, unfortunately these things don’t exist in a vacuum. one of the most crucial base level aspects of the music scene is the bricks and mortar real world venues. without those, so much of what we love about music in general, from the sweaty basements to the massive stadiums, simply wouldn’t happen.

that’s one thing that’s in acute danger right now, with news of venues closing across the country like it’s going out of fashion. thankfully, they aren’t all closed, but they will be if we don’t do something about it. that’s where you & i come in. luna lounge in leyton, london is in danger of closing and in response, the people who run it have decided they’re going to do the impossible, and we’re going to help. they want to buy out their location, turn the venue into a true community centre and cement one of the finest underground music venues within north london as somewhere fit for staying.

if you want to help, good news; it’s very easy. you’ve got 3 options,

   if you have some money to spare, donate to the crowd funder right here, if they’re unsuccessful they promise to give you your money back, and if they’re successful then you helped keep them going.

   my band, iversen, and a single song review alumni donor lens will be playing a benefit concert in luna, on the 10th of feb. ticket revenue will all be going to the kickstarter, and you’ll get to come down and have a party with us. who knows, maybe you can meet the face behind the newsletter?
