😀 nova charm (die the monk x n.o.i.s.e.w.i.z.a.r.d) green - bozo review

outsider? insider? who knows?

there's a guy at my work lately who's really taken to drumming on his desk, which, like okay maybe a bit would be fine but my guy is fully open handed slapping his desk to his music and it's just drivng me insane. idk why im opening with that, i was just thinking about it, so there we are. imagine me, sitting here trying to write a cool review for you all, and that guy is going to town on the furniture. wee mental image for ya. this week, we're listening to what can only be described as an electronic, hip hop fever dream of a track. there's a lot going on, i don't understand half of it, some of it scares me and y'know what? im having a good time nonetheless. introducing bozo and their song nova charm, and then it says (die the monk x n.o.i.s.e.w.i.z.a.r.d) which i think is a feature but i'll be honest i haven't looked it up.

what i liked! :)

i'll be real with you, i really love how this song is totally batshit. the structure? out the window, the tones? all kinda of stuff going on including what sounds like a metronome. the energy? raw, uncompromising and just a little strange. it's approaching outsider music, but doing it in a way that's actually decent and worth listening to. the opening hook is really cool, i bet live that'd be super intense and this is the kind of song that's really crying out to be played like, painfully loud.

what i didn’t like :(

this song feels like it can't quite make up it's mind about what it wants to do. at times, it's abrasive and strange, at others? it's quite standard fare. it's almost as if it's scared to commit to what it wants to do, when it really should double down.

my drunk opinion :S

this song feels like that meme where the guy is like 'i really loved her bro she was the one'

for fans of

this is really in that aggressive hip hop vein of the likes of death grips, altho it's a little more tame but they've got potential to land in that genre.

should you listen to more?

this artist is weird! and really cool. this is definitely something a bit more in a very different direction, but the dancey, house stuff and lo fi stuff on their spotify you'll find, is really good. honestly? whatever this artist gets up to in the future sign me tf up.

more we’ve been listening to

strange and ethereal with a banging dancey bead behind it. the kinda song you put on the aux chord and people at the party go oh what's this, and then later, oh whats this??

waldo's gift - the berlin tuck
starts high, ends higher, super crazy guitar work. what more could you want?

think this made me cry but it might've been hunger

that’s all from us this week! catch you in the next one xo
