what i liked! :)
this song is quintessential hyperpop, and your immediately immersed in sadieworld by her perfectly blended sugary, bubblegum pop production with auto-tuned, ethereal vocals. it's very reminiscent of charli xcx's collaborations with ag cook, but on the lighter side with less glitch and distortion that you might want for a club banger.
what i didn’t like :(
there's not much that we didn't like (you can probably tell we're fans of this genre). if we had to provide critiques, it's that lyrically, there could be more variation, and from a production perspective, a little less dependency on replicating the familiar uk hyperpop sound.
for fans of
this one is pretty straightforward. if you're a fan of hyperpop pioneers like sophie, charli xcx, and ag cook or any of their friends like sky ferreira, bladee, caroline polachek, and rina sawayama, you'll probably enjoy. very lgbtq+ friendly.
should you listen to more?
sadie's committed to bringing hyperpop across the pond from the uk to new york, so most of her music is stylistically similar. she released her tides ep in april and would suggest giving where you're not a listen.
more we’ve been listening to
don’t mind me, just groovin to this groovy tune
reader, i’ve been listening to black lips again
it’s the boy! the boy is back! (he’s like 28)
