it’s been a hot second since we last had a dance track on here. and that would be an awful shame if one hadn’t landed in the database just the other day. so i am pleased as punch to introduce you all to this weeks track. meet artist ambiere, and their song alone. it’s a lil bit down tempo but it’s really got heart and a rhythmn making me want to get up out this comfy chair.
this track has emotional intensity in buckets and spades. that’s right everyone, it’s absolutely full of it. and by it i of course mean that feeling where you don’t quite know if you’re happy or crying. that little mid point where all those feelings are all inside and bottled up ready to pop. from the vocal performance fit to make a little child cry to the gentle arppegiation dialling things up a notch. the breakbeat drums do a great job also of just keeping things moving. the whole song feels like it’s going somewhere well beyond where it actually does and that’s so powerful. if the performers weren’t so committed to the performance, it wouldn’t work. but this song is played straight in your eyes and doesn’t blink, and for that i think it really works.
my only thought on this song, is i think if it was 30bpm faster it’d be transcendant. it’s just ever so slightly too slow but it requires effectively no alteration other than a tempo step up. hit that, and this is a hit.
this song is dying to be made into an edit on tiktok of some movie. like a good high tempo real emotional edit. you know the ones i mean
this bicep album had the gang and i in a vice grip back in the day, but honestly, i think it’s right there for this song.
this track is pretty par for the course in terms of execution for this artist, by which i mean it’s all really really good. but i think it does take a real step in the direction of something more solid and unique. there’s definitely a defined tone and sound being built up here, more so than previous releases and if that keeps up? well, we’ll have a live one on our hands.
