okay you filthy animals it’s metal time since you all seemed to like that last heavy ol track. we’ll do something lighter next week maybe? but in the mean time, this is a subscriber submitted track for the ages. it’s got all you really want in a banging metal track; vocals that make your hair stand on end, heavy as hell rhythmn section and a groove, oh boy, oh brother, a groove that keeps you locked in the whole damn time.

what i like

what i like

the production value on this track is top top tier. every note and hit and beat sounds and feels like a massive effort. this is what you get when you spend the extra time and energy in the studio gang. the low ends are down lowwwww and feel it, the high ends are bright and spritely and energetic, the instruments sit a clear country mile from each other but when they come together it hits like a truck. beautiful. all in though, this is a song that does a lot really really well, most importantly is of course that groove. the groove in this thing is so cleverly done. take the breakdown, where the song drops all the way out but the drummer? they know what they’re doing, keeping things rolling on the absolute bare minimum which means that when the rest of the song comes back in then it’s getting five big booms because you’re still in that groove. you’ve just let the song develop and do something else for a bit. masterful stuff very good.

what i don't like

what i don’t like

this song is super sparse and pared back, which works really really well but i really liked when it had something a little bit more melodic going on. i think it would’ve worked great had it integrated a bit more of a through melody that wasn’t held up entirely by the vocal. it would’ve added a bit of richness to this that it could’ve done with.

my drunk opinion

my drunk opinion

i’m telling you man that groove is still going you just gotta feel it ready? just like, here, take this rock and hold on.

for fans of

my drunk opinion

there are so many good bands i could recommend for this section, it’s a genre that’s spoiled for choice for quality, so what i’m gonna do is pick an artist i’ve been listening to a lot lately and just say them, and then say take yourself to the related artists section and enjoy. this week i’m going with sleep theory

should you listen to more

hey shout out to this band for submitting their song, with a solid team around them this is a band that’s going places i’ll tell you that one for free. very very high quality and very cool, thumbs up from me!
