goddamn this is a cool song. hello everyone and welcome to another issue, we’ve got a really feisty experimental and groovy track for you this week. meet blood pressure by the delightfully named the dying animal. expect fuzzy, crusty and groovy beats for the length of this banger.

what i liked! :)

man this song keeps you guessing. every time you feel like ohh i know where the beat is going to go, nope. it just veers off in another direction and lands you into something else. that can be frustrating, but simply put it’s playing with you and having fun. also the sheer level of texture on the go here is really great. the weight of the beats are amplified by that crusty fuzzy texture that gels everything together so tightly. the outro in particular really does this so well with the way it fizzles out after reaching such an apex.

what i didn’t like :(

i wish this song wasn’t so mean to me and gave me the beats i desire. but alas, it did not.

i’m gonna be honest i don’t really know what to compare this to. i know this is a rich genre so honestly bit of a gap on my part. how about look mum no computer? lots of programmed and electronic and fuzzy going on, although that has some decent vocals. it’s also really banging, so there’s always that.

should you listen to more?

do i recommend this artist? hell yes, hell yes, hell yes. it’s all instrumental and very drum led, but if you want something to really get a grumpy vibe in, this is the one.
