sort of club anthems pop remix, and, evil?

earlier this weekend i was at a party and we stayed in the pool until 5am with what, we described as, pool madness. it was beautiful. man, life is all about other people and the times we get with them. maybe i’m sleep deprived. or maybe, i’m feeling good about things right now and i’ve got a song in my ear that’s hitting the right spot for me in this moment. meet lexus p, artist, musician and most importantly, song submitter. the song submitted? crazy, their new track. i hope it hits that right spot for you too, give it a spin.

the word i’m reaching for to describe this track is integration. every aspect of it feels so tightely coreographed and illustrated that you could absolutely listen to this song 3 or 4 times on a loop and not notice. and by could, i mean did, as in i did that. it was lush. the flow from verse to chorus and back again is buttery smooth and as much a testament to the songwriting as the performances bringing it to life. especially the little bridging elements like the verse vocal hanging on a little bit long on that last verse to just draw a line between verse and chorus. all of this to say nothing of the production on this. this is a track made by someone who had a really clera vision of how they wanted people to experience it. you get it so clear in the verse where the upper register is rolled off to create a new sense of space and volume, without changing the underlying performance.

i don’t really have a bad word to say about this song. like seriously it’s a clean sweep of a track and i don’t know what i would be able to add in a conversation about it.

i wasn’t kidding about listening to this track on a loop and i wasn’t kidding about it being great either

this track had me reaching for a few comparisons, but the one i felt really confident in was feels like summer by childish gambino which is another track i could absolutely loop for 15 to 55 minutes and enjoy every one of them.

if you like this song then the ep this is from is going to be right up your street. there’s a ton of variety but the core sound in use here is solidly on display. this is an artist who has hit on something special and i’m really into it, i hope you are too.
