😀 morning midnight - blurry review
what if cheesy drums were... good?
hello tiny people who live in my computer. we're back with another review for you all, and it's a good song today. they usually are, have you noticed that? not to toot our own horn or anything, but we've been on what feels like a roll lately and we're not gonna stop now! this song is called blurry, it's by a very cool band called morning midnight and you are probably going to like it, we hope.
click the picture up above to give it a listen!
what i liked! :)
i love how this track uses very basic drum sounds in a very raw format, and just rolls with it. none of this ohh layer up some sounds so you're not sure it's an 808 or whatever, just in with both feet and you know what? it sounds great. add to that the degree to which this song gets in your head and oh boy, are we onto a winner. the little licks on the piano and guitar echo each other, the way the chords gently settle into each other, the gorgeous vocal work that give it a whistful and mournful tune.
what i didn’t like :(
i think i don't like how this song starts, not so much how it holds it's best moments until later, but in how the first few seconds to this sound painfully generic, when this very much isn't. idk, im just lately coming out as against songs having a long layup, just get to the goods already!
my drunk opinion :S
but boy was i whistling the hooks from this for a while
for fans of
im happy to report that while this does sound like bon iver, it's very much doing it's own thing and so we no longer risk ressurecting the great bon iver/mumford & sons epidemic of the early 10s
should you listen to more?
this is a good band! everything i like about this song is present throughout their stuff, and if that sounds good to you then click on through and enjoy.
more we’ve been listening to
how do you make a piano funky? well, follow this and you'll do it with ease.
the way this uses a little ding synth to add a layer of bop to an otherwise pretty melancholic song is gorgeous
this viagra boys album is insane
