just really peaceful and powerful music lovely stuff

one of the only people doing this kind of music well these days if you ask me, and you did!

this week i found myself hunting for something a little bit different to what we’ve had for the last few weeks. always trying to keep things nice and fresh as a daisy. thankfully, i stumbled upon a track that does some of my all time favourite tropes and ideas in electronic music, and i thought you know who’d like this? this big ol’ list of cool music fans who i bother once a week at around 6.30 in the morning every tuesday. bet they’d love it! so here y’are, meet pluko and their track falling.

i am such a big fan of when artists take a vocal track and just chop it the f up. throw it in the blender just give it a little swirl see what happens. this song though, it really takes that idea and transforms it into an art form. so much of the actual music and musicianship and instrumentation? all vocal stems just transformed to hell and back. it’s a really beautiful bit of songwriting and i love how the more you listen to it the more you get out of it. really, take a peer into this bad boy and really pay attention to what it’s doing. the breadth and depths of the detail is really shocking the more you look at it. couple that with a big high energy segment with some powerful driving bass and you have a combo for the ages.

i love the sort of, fine needle work of this song and how it plays with vocal stems as i’ve mentioned. and i felt like the main vocal hook was really strong i had it in my head for days. i just felt like this song needs a bit more, sort of, in general. like there’s a lot here, lots going on very exciting and interesting, but there’s no verse or statement or anything of substance and i felt that left it a little flat. there are these great peaks and troughs musically, but nothing for those to punctuate or illustrate or transform.

part of why i wanted to write about this song is because i feeel like this song is managing to make it’s way into the bit of the canon of artists in this space blowing up right now. your ninajirachi’s, your frost childrens, your what have you. this edm wave that’s happening at the moment has some real juice behind it and i think it’s so exciting. so i am really enjoying finding songs that are taking that energy and doing something a bit different with it all, pushing the boat out and going a bit crazy.

this song actually came out quite a while ago, and since, i am delighted to reveal this artist has been dropping a bit more including an ep. and there, you will see and please, add this to the record, that everything i said in the i don’t like section of this review, was addressed! in fact, it was all addressed really really well, so much so that it’s becoming a bit of a favourite of mine.
