what i liked! :)
iβm going to address the elephant in the room with this one. there is a list of bands as long as your arm that this fits squarley in the soundscape of, with that britpop indie style we all know, and lots of people love. theyβre not trying to do something new here, so what are they doing? well, straight up theyβre delivering a massively competent entry in the genre, dripping with emotion, passion and just enough grit for it to stand up. the main riff pushes, the vocal work, the fun interplay between the rhythm sections. all of these ideas are laid up with the level of expertise of an act moving with confidence. plus i bet this would sound incredible live.
what i didnβt like :(
you know that meme of like, music sped up sounds better? if this song was sped up like just the tiniest amount itβd sound way better.
my drunk opinion :S
i feel like iβm in a pub when i listen to this, do you know what i mean?
for fans of
this feels like a great opportunity to recommend an artist that not only sounds a bit like this band, but much more importantly, filmed a music video in a swimming pool i used to go to as a kid, true story!
should you listen to more?
sorry to say, this is an artist right at the start of their career, so at time of writing, you canβt listen to more! because there isnβt any there yet. that said, i hope they keep on trucking because thereβs a lot of potential here. this is an act who right out of the gate know exactly who they are and what they want to do with their debut single. thatβs exciting because while this song maybe isnβt the most creative in the genre, it doesnβt need to be. instead, it ticks a lot of the boxes that that creativity needs to flourish and does so in style.
more weβve been listening to
very dark and moody electronic track that escalates and escalates
as catchy as it is bouncy which is to say very
wherever you think this song is going, it isnβt
