😀 smooth mcduck - sell yourself review
ready for more duck?
time for a dive into whatever the hell it is our alumni are up to! oh, would you look at that. they're still releasing banging music, and it's getting better. not to say 'we told you so' but, we did tell you so. smooth mcduck are back, well over a year after dropping one of our fave songs from last year, they've got another. meet sell yourself, their latest dreamy indie track.

what i liked! :)
the smooth and gentle guitar riff that sets this song out lowers you into such a great mood and feel. the fact it can turn that on and off at will, with the ride cymbal, great vocal work and whaa'd synth is such a treat. that mood only then serves as the background of course, to the intensely and deceptively catchy lyrics, that on one listen i was whistling like i'd listened to it a thousand times. the fact that this song doesn't stick around either, gently zipping in like a velvet rocket and then dipping again before you've had a chance to get used to anything is deftly handled.
what i didn’t like :(
honestly, i thought the drums were the best and worst of this song. the 808 sounding kick was a very deliberate choice and one i'll agree to disagree on as the acoustic and real tones this song uses so frequently were by far my favourite in this.
my drunk opinion :S
this song is so great, that's all i've got
for fans of
this song reminds me a lot of this song renegade by tsha and eli murphy
should you listen to more?
this newsletter is basically a smooth mcduck fan account as we've been following them for ages and frankly they started out strong and then got,,, stronger. choo choo, hype trains leaving, hop on!
more we’ve been listening to

in this house we are pro four tet and that's that.

one of those songs that goes hand in hand with a bad mood and gentle rain

one of those dancey tracks that hits that balance between being high energy and banging and also utterly melancholic
