what i liked! :)

the opening riff and general bumping along soundscape of this song is inspired. the gentle electro drums clicking within finger picking and the opening synth riff set you down into the kind of sonic world you want to be a part of. i could easily see myself vibing out big time to this song on a plane landing in to somewhere sunny or driving along an open country road and fitting right in. the moments where gentle straying from the script like the bridge with it’s call and answer vocal and guitar riff serve to raise you up and keep you hooked as you enjoy wherever it is you are. i love when music does this, makes you feel and be somewhere and sometime you maybe aren’t right now. i’ve always thought that music is more than just an auditory sensation, it’s something that really reaches into you and puts you somewhere like a giant moving toys on a shelf. not to wax lyrically (wahey) but if you wanted a music example of that challenge to sit with a piece of art for 2 hours and see what it does, this is a good one to do it with.

what i didn’t like :(

nah, nothing, loved this! sometimes i feel bad when i write this, like i should have some kind of really nuanced opinion and be able to pick something out of every song that could be improved, but sometimes songs are good! this one is anyway

for fans of

this song really reminds me of an absolute bop in the form of california by petey, which features a lot of the same affectation through bump synths, tight drums and slightly removed vocal work that makes this song really work.
